The Show

The Rude Revue is a modern vaudeville show featuring burlesque and variety acts of all kinds. Every night is different from the last and can be tailored to a specific venue or audience.  From classic to cosplay and fantastic to freaky, the Rude Revue is sure to wow your pants off (and ours will be off for sure). Beautiful ladies, clowns, flow artists, sideshow acts, comedians, jugglers, crooners, and more! This is not your Grandma's night out (unless your Grandma is awesome). The Rude Revue has been known to spontaneously combust children and make adults 18 and over very happy. These two symptoms are unrelated. We think. But just to be safe, please leave the kiddos at home. (Age restrictions set by venues. Some shows only admit 21 and over. Please see specific show information for details.)

"Your shows have introduced me to so many awesome people and a whole new world of entertainment." - Mike Harris

The Producer

Annie-Mae Allure, Kansas City's Animated Burlesque Star, began producing in January of 2014. Her goal was to put on a variety show that would please audiences of all kinds as well as give her the opportunity to give regular work to local burlesque, drag, and variety performers. Annie-Mae not only produces the shows but is the MC and sometimes a performer!

Values Statement

  1. Respect - We believe that everyone deserves respect regardless of ethnicity, sex, gender, orientation, age, ability, or creed. We define respect as the due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, and traditions of others. The Rude Revue treats all participants (staff, volunteers, performers, sponsors, vendors, and patrons) with respect and expects them to do the same. The only opinions or beliefs that we will not respect are those that infringe upon the rights and wellbeing of others
  2. Diversity - The Rude Revue believes that the best experience is created with diversity, inclusivity, and intersectionality. This is more effectively achieved by giving special consideration to members of marginalized groups, as their voices are so often suppressed. In order to achieve true diversity, we need to create more safe spaces for POC, disabled, and LGTBQIA+ individuals, both as performers and as attendees.
  3. Professionalism - All participants of the Rude Revue deserve an experience that is worth the time, money, and effort spent to attend. If a participant is unsatisfied with any aspect of their experience, we will put forth our best effort to make it right in accordance with these values.
  4. Transparency - In an effort to remain accountable, the Rude Revue practices, policies, and procedures should be available to the public.
  5. Community - All boats rise in a tide. The Rude Revue aims to support and promote businesses and productions that share our values, both locally and abroad.
  6. Body Positivity - Burlesque is for every body. No participant should be turned away due to their physical appearance or limitations and best efforts will be made to accommodate all body types.
